Police investigate armed robbery at Chelmer

Police are investigating after a man and woman were threatened with a firearm and had their car stolen at Chelmer this morning.

At around 7.15am the pair arrived home in the Audi on Laurel Avenue and pulled up in the carport.

The 64-year-old female passenger was approached by a man who opened the door, produced a long-arm firearm and demanded keys to the vehicle.

The man then threatened the 67-year-old male driver with the firearm who complied and handed over the keys.

The man drove away northbound on Laurel Ave at high speed. Neither victim sustained any physical injuries.

The man is described as wearing a dark coloured hoodie with a black bandana over his face.

Police are appealing for anyone who may see the vehicle (similar to pictured) a grey 2019 Audi RS4 with Queensland registration 324ZDW to immediately call Triple 0.
