Police investigate Geelong death

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating following the death of a man in Geelong overnight.

It’s believed the 40-year-old Geelong man left his Western Beach Road property about 11pm last night to walk his dog.

His wife awoke about 4am and became concerned after she found the dog had returned but he hadn’t.

He had sustained head injuries and sadly had passed away by the time he was located.

The exact circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be determined, however it is being treated as suspicious.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the man out walking his dog last night, or heard anything suspicious between 11pm on Thursday 14 September and 4am on Friday, 15 September.

Investigators are also asking anyone who lives in the area or was driving through to please contact police if they have any CCTV or dash cam footage.
