Police investigate Laverton North carjacking

Police are appealing for public assistance to find a stolen vehicle and it’s three occupants following a carjacking in Laverton North overnight.

Investigators have been told a vehicle bearing stolen plates rolled and crashed into a barrier on the Princes Freeway at Laverton North about 12.15am.

Three occupants of the vehicle, one female and two males in their twenties, managed to walk away from the crash before the vehicle caught fire.

The three people then threatened a motorist who had stopped to help and stole his black Mercedes sedan.

The victim was not physically injured.

Investigations into the incidents remain ongoing.

Anyone who spots the black 2012 Mercedes with registration 1SR9OX should call Triple-Zero (000).
