Police investigate stabbing in Port Melbourne

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a stabbing in Port Melbourne on Sunday 23 April.

It is believed that a 17-year-old female was stabbed by an unknown female at Westgate Park just after 1am.

Officers believe that both females had attended a gathering in the park with approximately 200-300 others prior to the assault.

The 17-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are also seeking to identify another young female who may have been assaulted by the same unknown female earlier in the night.

It’s believed many people were in the area at the time and police would like to speak to any witnesses or anyone with footage.

The unknown female is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance and in her teens. She had blonde hair with dark regrowth and was wearing a dark coloured dress.
