Detectives from Box Hill Embona are investigating after a man was stabbed during a robbery in Surrey Hills earlier this month.
Investigators have been told the victim, a 31-year-old Surrey Hills man, was walking west along Whitehorse Road just before 11.40pm on Thursday 9 May when a silver Holden Commodore Sedan pulled up beside him.
Two unknown offenders got out of the rear of the car and the vehicle drove a short distance down the road.
The men approached the victim and yelled at him; however the victim does not speak English.
Realising he was being robbed; the victim clutched a satchel bag to his chest.
One of the offenders stabbed the victim twice in the leg before he released the satchel.
The men then ran back to the car and fled the scene, stealing the satchel which contained bank cards and a sum of cash.
One offender was perceived to be either Caucasian or Middle Eastern in appearance, about 180cm tall, and was wearing a cap and a dark coloured shirt.
The second offender was also perceived to be either Caucasian or Middle Eastern in appearance, with short curly hair, and was wearing a white hooded top.
Detectives have released CCTV of the vehicle in the hope that someone may be able to provide information on the incident.
