Police investigate suspicious fires in Glenroy and Coburg

Police are investigating suspicious fires in Glenroy and Coburg this morning.

Emergency services were called to a business on Wheatsheaf Road on 9 October about 2.30am.

It’s understood a black BMW sedan rammed the roller door of the shop before setting it alight.

Residents from a nearby apartment building were temporarily evacuated.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police were called to a car fire on Shaftsbury Street, Coburg shortly afterwards.

A black BMW was located fully engulfed.

Police are investigating if the incidents are linked.

The investigation into the fires remains ongoing.

Police are appealing for anyone in the area who may have CCTV or dash cam footage of the incident.
