Police investigating crash between car and fuel truck at Bracknell

Police are investigating a crash between a car and fuel truck at the intersection of Oaks and Whitemore Roads, near Bracknell, around 11.15am this morning.

Tasmania Fire Service used specialist equipment to extract a female passenger who was temporarily trapped in the car.

The three occupants of the car were transported to Launceston General Hospital for observation and treatment of minor injuries. The truck driver was physically uninjured.

Sergeant Chugg from Westbury Police Station said, “It was extremely lucky that no-one was seriously injured in this crash.”

“While the cause of the crash is still being investigated drivers should be mindful that inattention and distraction are one of the leading causes of fatal and serious crashes on roads in Tasmania.”
