A 20-year-old man has died following a hit and run traffic incident in Cairns this morning.
The Cairns man was struck by a vehicle on James Street just after midnight.
The vehicle failed to stop, driving off in an unknown direction.
The man sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and died at the scene.
Investigators are appealing for the driver of the vehicle or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
