Police investigating shooting incident at Archerfield

Police are appealing for information following a shooting incident at Archerfield this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate just before 1pm a late model silver Commodore occupied by a man and a woman attended a Beatty Road car yard.

A short altercation occurred which resulted in a 61-year-old man suffering a laceration to the back of his head after being struck with a firearm.

No one else was injured during the incident.

Shots were fired a short time later which caused damage to nearby vehicles.

The late model silver sedan and a late model black sedan were later seen driving in the Archerfield area.

Detectives are urging anyone with any information or dashcam vision to contact police.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
