Police investigating wounding at Waverly

Launceston detectives are investigating after a man was found seriously injured on the Tasman Highway at Waverly last night.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was found with serious injuries to his abdomen about 7.45pm.

Initial investigations indicate the victim was involved in an altercation with two men shortly before being located. The two men were seen leaving the scene in a green Holden Commodore.

The victim remains at the Launceston General Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Investigations are continuing and police are following a specific line of enquiry.
