Police lay armed robbery charges at South Brisbane 22 December

A 28-year-old Labrador man has been charged in relation to two armed robberies in Hemmant and Tingalpa earlier this month.

Police will allege on December 12 around 7pm, a man entered licensed premises on Gosport Street, Hemmant and was confronted by an employee.

The man allegedly produced a firearm and threatened the employee, demanding cash.

The employee complied and was not physically injured.

The man allegedly left the scene on foot with a quantity of cash.

It will be further alleged on December 17 around 1am, a man entered licensed premises on Wynnum Road, Tingalpa armed with a firearm.

The man allegedly threatened the cashier, demanding a sum of cash.

The employee attempted to retrieve cash however was unable to comply, with the man fleeing the scene in a silver hatchback.

The man was charged with 13 offences, including armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and possession of a weapon.

He is due to appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court tomorrow (December 23) .
