Police lay assault charges at Bracken Ridge

Police have charged an 18-year-old Wavell Heights man following an alleged incident at Bracken Ridge this afternoon (December 4).

Police will allege at about 2pm, the 18-year-old man was involved in a verbal altercation at Elaine Street address with a 16-year-old boy that became violent.

The 18-year-old is alleged to have armed himself with a knife, striking the 16-year-old wounding his scalp.

Police responded quickly, arresting and later charging the 18-year-old with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was held in custody and is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow.
