Police lay charges after Bulleen shooting

Echo Taskforce detectives have charged nine people following a series of warrants this morning linked to a shooting in Bulleen last August.

Nine warrants were executed in Clyde North, Cranbourne West, Narre Warren, Mickleham, Werribee, Altona Meadows (2), Brunswick West and Meadow Heights, as well as at an OMCG clubhouse in Cranbourne West.

A 26-year-old Clyde North man has been charged with attempted murder and arson and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court tonight.

A 24-year-old Mickleham man has been charged with attempted murder, arson and prohibited person possess a firearm and possess drug of dependence. He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court tonight.

A 31-year-old Meadow Heights man has been charged with attempt to pervert the course of justice, accessory after the fact to attempted murder, cultivate a narcotic plant, possess cannabis and possess an imitation firearm. He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court tonight.

Eleven people have now been arrested in total, with police have also charging the following people as a result of the investigation:

• A 29-year-old Werribee woman has been charged with traffick cocaine and bailed to appear at court at a later date;

• A 36-year-old Altona Meadows man charged with traffick and possess a drug of dependence. He has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on 7 April, 2020;

• A 25-year-old Werribee man has been charged with traffic drug of dependence, possess cocaine, possess cannabis, handle stolen goods and commit indictable offence whilst on bail. He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court tonight;

• An 18-year-old Werribee man has been cautioned re possession of cannabis;

• A 31-year-old Altona Meadows woman has been charged with cultivate a narcotic plant, possess cannabis and possess imitation firearm. She has been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates Court on 12 March, 2020;

• A 27-year-old Narre Warren man has been charged with possess an unregistered longarm firearm, possess an unregistered handgun, cultivate a narcotic plant, possess cannabis and negligently deal with the proceeds of crime. He has been bailed to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates Court on 2 March, 2020; and

• A 20-year-old Meadow Heights man remains in custody and is expected to be charged with drug offences.

• A 35-year-old Brunswick man remains in custody and is expected to be charged with drug and firearm offences.

Today’s arrests follow the non-fatal shooting of a 37-year-old man in Bulleen on 1 August, 2019.
