Police lay charges after death in Kew

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 55-year-old Kew man following the death of a man in Kew on 23 January,

Emergency services were called to a residence on A’Beckett Street about 10am.

A 54-year-old man was located with critical injuries.

He was treated by emergency crews but died at the scene.

The 55-year-old Kew man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries but has since been released and interviewed by detectives.

He has been charged with one count of murder and will be brought before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.

The investigation remains ongoing.
