Police have charged a man after he allegedly seriously assaulted two officers at Hemmant in Brisbane’s south this morning.
Officers were initially called to Bogong Street around 5:10am following reports of a disturbance between two men.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to engage with the men, before its alleged one of them, a 35-year-old Hemmant man, struck a male constable in the neck with a knife and assaulted a male senior constable, before fleeing the area.
First aid was immediately provided to the male constable, before further emergency services arrived, and he was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
Following subsequent patrols, officers located the 35-year-old man outside a business on Wondall Road, Manly West around 7am and took him into custody.
He has since been charged with two counts of attempted murder.
He was refused police custody and is due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court tomorrow, 28 September.
