Police lay charges after Tarneit police car ramming

Investigators from Taskforce Wayward have charged four teenagers following an alleged police car ramming in Tarneit on Friday.

Two Wyndham Vale boys, aged 15 and 16, were charged with theft of motor vehicle and bail offences.

A 16-year-old Tarneit boy was charged with armed robbery, theft of motor vehicle, theft and bail offences.

All were remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Tarneit boy was charged with burglary, theft and theft of motor vehicle.

He was bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

The charges follow an incident on Hopkins Road about 11.20am on Friday, 30 July.

Police will allege a stolen Nissan collided with the front of a police car while performing a U-turn.

The vehicle was located a short time later on Hummingbird Boulevard and was flipped on its roof after crashing into another vehicle.

The occupants allegedly fled on foot and were arrested a short time later.
