Police lay charges – Aggravated robbery in Darwin 21 November

Northern Territory Police have arrested five individuals after a robbery in Darwin City on Friday.

At 1:35pm, police received reports that a group had entered a business on Smith Street and were refused service due to intoxication.

The group has allegedly assaulted 3 employees before stealing a quantity of alcohol and fleeing the scene.

Police CCTV operators tracked the group towards a residence on Smith Street and a short time later members arrested all five without incident.

Two females, aged 20 and 36, along with a male, aged 34, were charged with aggravated robbery.

They were remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court tomorrow.

Two females, aged 31 and 32, were released pending further investigations.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said “Investigations into this robbery remain ongoing and detectives from Strike Force Trident anticipate further charges will be laid.”
