Police lay robbery charges at Shailer Park

Police have charged two teenage girls with robbery in company after an incident in a shopping centre car park off the Pacific Highway in Shailer Park overnight.

It will be alleged at about 9pm a 37-year-old woman from Waterford West was approached by two teenage girls in the carpark demanding her to hand over her mobile.

The woman refused and was struck over the head with an object a number of times before the teenage girls took her mobile and handbag and left the area.

Police attended and with the assistance of a police dog located the two 14-year-old girls on Warnambul Road, Shailer Park.

The woman received minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Two 14-year-old girls, one from Red Hill and the other from Meridan Plains have been charged with one count each of robbery in company and stealing.
