Police make arrest – Serious assault in Alice Springs 8 December

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 38-year-old man in relation to a serious assault of a woman in Alice Springs overnight.

It is alleged around 2:30am the man drove his vehicle through a secured front gate of a Gillen home before entering the property and seriously physically assaulting a 31-year-old woman.

Police and emergency services were called to the location where they located the woman in a critical condition. She was transported to the Alice Springs Hospital and later medivac to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The man was located and arrested at the scene and transported to the Alice Springs Watch house where it is expected he will be charged with serious harm offences.
