Police motorcyclist rammed at Rochedale, QLD

A road policing officer has been knocked off his motorbike after attempting to assist a motorist on the Gateway Motorway early this morning.

Around 1am, the officer was conducting speed checks at Rochedale when a silver Holden Commodore stopped a short distance away, appearing to have engine problems.

The officer conducted a u-turn and was stopping in front of the Commodore when the vehicle drove towards the officer, clipping the bike and throwing him off. The car then reversed and rammed the police motorcycle before speeding off.

The car was bearing false registration plates, 180 AN9 and was last seen exiting the Gateway Motorway at Miles Platting Road.

The sergeant, who managed to stay upright after his bike was clipped, and move away before it was rammed, was not physically injured as a result.

Anyone with information about the silver Holden Commodore, or its whereabouts, is encouraged to contact police. The front passenger corner is likely to be damaged.
