Police officer stood down in Southern Region, QLD

A 55-year-old male senior constable from Southern Region has been stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service and has been tasked to perform non-operational duties.

The officer is subject of an investigation into allegations of making a false declaration. Further, the member was served with a notice to appear for one offence against section 194 (1) (False Declarations) of the Criminal Code to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 14, 2020.

In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
