Police officer suspended in Northern Region 14 August, QLD

A 56-year-old male police officer from the Northern Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.

The male sergeant is subject to allegations of dangerous operation of a vehicle whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving whilst under the influence of liquor and disobeying the speed limit.

It will be alleged a blood specimen was taken, with subsequent analysis detecting a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of 0.199%.

The officer has been issued with a notice to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on 22 August 2023.
