Police Officers Injured – Balga

Mirrabooka Detectives have charged a 31 year old Balga man after he allegedly hit two police officers with his vehicle.
It will be alleged about 7.15am on 21 August 2022, the officers attended at an address in Balga in regard to a family violence matter.
The man was directed to leave the premises, before he entered his vehicle.
While the officers were standing in the driveway of the residence, the man accelerated towards them, causing one officer to be thrown onto the bonnet of the car. The other officer was also hit as he attempted to take evasive action.
After hitting the officers, the man crashed through a fence and a garage. He then drove off from the area, leaving the officers injured.
He was later apprehended on the Mitchell Freeway in Connolly.
One officer received a fracture to his leg, together with bruising and lacerations.
The other officer suffered lacerations and bruising.
The man has been charged with 2 x With Intent to Harm, Driver Fail to Report an Incident Occasioning Bodily Harm, Driver Fail to Stop and Ensure Assistance Received after Incident Occasioning Bodily Harm and Driver Fail to Stop – Property Damage.
The man will next appear in Perth Magistrates Court on 19 September 2022.
