Police are investigating a single vehicle traffic crash in Wallu which resulted in a woman’s death this afternoon.
Preliminary investigations indicate around 1.55pm, a hatchback vehicle travelling south on Tin Can Bay Road lost control, leaving the roadway and impacting several trees before coming to a stop.
Police and emergency services attended the scene and transported the female passenger of the vehicle to hospital.
Sadly, the 87-year-old The Dawn woman passed away in hospital.
The 39-year-old male driver of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
