Police responding to serious traffic crash at Drayton 16 July

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious two vehicle traffic crash in Drayton this afternoon.

Initial enquiries indicate around 5.15pm a silver 2007 Subaru liberty was travelling north on Toowoomba-Athel Road when a collision occurred with a white 2021 Mercedes sprinter campervan travelling south on the same road.

The crash occurred on approach to the intersection of Old Wyreema Road.

The driver of the Subaru, a 21-year-old-man Wavell Heights man sustained serious injuries, a 20-year-old Wryeema man, a passenger in his vehicle, suffered minor injuries only.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 71-year-old man, sustained serious injuries along with his passenger, an 86-year-old woman, both from Taringa.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash, or the moments leading up to it to come forward
