Police seek help to locate getaway car after arson attacks in Huntingdale

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information after two arson attacks at the same location in Huntingdale last week.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, 9 April about 3.40am when the window of a business on Huntingdale Road was broken and the offender unsuccessfully attempted to ignite an accelerant.

The second incident occurred on Sunday, 10 April about 7.20am when offenders reversed a stolen black Holden Barina into the front of the business before igniting the vehicle causing significant damage to the building.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The offender ran from the scene and into a getaway car believed to be a black Subaru Forester with distinctive black rims. The car may be displaying stolen registration plates TRB556.

Detectives are also investigating if the Subaru was involved in evades and thefts in Berwick, Oakleigh, Nunawading, Frankston and Seaford between Friday, 8 April and Tuesday, 12 April.

Detectives have released CCTV and images of a vehicle and man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man was wearing a grey hoody, dark pants and dark shoes.
