Police seek information after boy assaulted, robbed on bus in Kingsford

Investigators have released CCTV images as they investigate an assault in the Eastern Beaches earlier this month.

Police have been told a 14-year-old boy was on a bus at Kingsford, about 8pm on Saturday 17 September 2022, when he was approached by an unknown man who demanded his bag.

When the child refused, the man assaulted him and took his wallet. The bus stopped on Gardeners Road and the man alighted the bus and fled on foot.

The boy was shaken but not injured.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were called to the scene and commenced an investigation.

As inquiries into the incident continue, police have released images captured by CCTV cameras of a man who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, between 20-25 years old, with a chipped front right tooth.

At the time he was wearing a green hi-viz jumper, black shirt with light coloured writing, and black tracksuit pants with three stripes down each side.
