Police seek information after fatal shooting in Mickleham

Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance following the fatal shooting of Korey Kesici in Mickleham this morning.

About midnight last night, Korey left his home address on Bangalore Way to speak to the male occupant of a silver BMW parked in the street.

After a short discussion, 22-year-old Korey was shot a number of times by a second male.

The pair then left in the vehicle, which was found alight a short time later on nearby St Georges Street.

Emergency services were called, however Korey died at the scene.

While police are still establishing the exact circumstances of the shooting, it is believed to be an organised, targeted attack.

Investigators also believe Korey is likely to have some connection to the male in the vehicle, however a motive for the shooting is still to be established.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, as well as anyone in the area between 11pm last night and 1am this morning who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage of the silver BMW or the males involved.

Detectives are also keen to speak to anyone who saw the silver BMW prior to last night.

Anyone who can provide information on associates of Korey’s or any motivation for the shooting is urged to contact police and this information can be provided anonymously.

Police ask any witnesses or anyone with footage or information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.auExternal Link
