Police seek information on Aggravated robbery and assault in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have released CCTV footage of four women they wish to identify following an incident in which a woman was robbed in Alice Springs on the weekend.

At around 12:20am on Saturday, a 23-year-old woman attempted to stop a group of four women assaulting a man on the lawns at the corner of Stuart Terrace and Simpson Street.

It is alleged the group turned on the woman and began physically assaulting her.

Another member of the public yelled at the group to stop the assault, allowing the victim to run back to her car before the group allegedly chased and assaulted her again.

During the assault, it is further alleged one of the women stole the victim’s keys before fleeing the area.

Police have released CCTV footage of the four women they are seeking public assistance to identify.

Detective Acting Sergeant Adam Donaldson said “CCTV shows a number of people who were in the area during the assault, including a woman who came to the aid of the victim.

“Police are calling for those witnesses to make contact as they have valuable information which would assist with this investigation.”
