Police seek information on Assault with intent to steal in Darwin CBD

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to an alleged assault with intent to steal which occurred in the early hours of this morning in Darwin CBD.

Shortly before 2:00am, police responded to a report that a male was threatening members of the public as they approached an ATM on Mitchell Street.

A 24-year-old male was arrested nearby by members of Alcohol Policing Unit in relation to the incident.

The man was conveyed to Palmerston Watch House and has been charged with:

1 x assault with intent to steal whilst armed with a weapon

1 x make a threat to kill a person.

He has been remanded in custody until Monday 29 June 2020.
