Police Seek Information On Serious Harm At Wadeye 25 March

Northern Territory Police are investigating after a serious harm incident in Wadeye yesterday.

Around 5pm, police received reports that a 22-year-old woman had suffered stab wounds to her back after an altercation with a female youth.

The woman presented to the local clinic and has since been conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with a collapsed lung.

Police attended the scene where the alleged weapon, a pair of scissors, were seized and a crime scene established. The alleged offender has been identified and the investigation is continuing.

Superintendent Paul Faustmann said “Local police and Serious Crime are investigating the incident and the injured woman thankfully received non-life threatening injuries.

“Police would like to thank the community members who have already provided information and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident to attend their local police station or to make contact on 131 444.”
