Police seek public assistance in search for Ian Lees, South Australia

Police are today calling on the public to assist with the search for missing Modbury North man, Ian Lees.

Between midday and 8pm, Thursday 14 April, Police will be stationed outside Tea Tree Plaza shopping centre, handing out flyers, in a bid to generate information from members of the public that may assist in locating Mr Lees.

Mr Lees was known to have been in Civic Park on North East Road, Modbury, the night before his disappearance and left his mobile phone in the park. Mr Lees was last seen walking on Fairleigh Avenue, Modbury North in the early hours of Tuesday, 1 March, heading towards Fairleigh Reserve.

He has not been heard from since that time.

Police have conducted a number of searches in the area and at various houses and businesses in the vicinity of Mr Lees’ last known whereabouts. Police Mounted Operations, STAR Operations, Dog Operations, the State Emergency Service, and many officers from Northern District have all been utilised as part of the search team in the past six weeks. Unfortunately, efforts to locate Mr Lees have been unsuccessful. It is known that Mr Lees has not contacted his family members or used his bank accounts since he has been missing.

Mr Lees is 53 years old, described as 175cm tall, slim build, 50kg with grey hair. He was last seen wearing a black Metallica t-shirt, black pants and black baseball cap.

Police have serious concerns for his welfare due to the considerable amount of time he has been missing.
