Brimbank Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a collision in Sunshine Avenue, St Albans today.
Police believe a white Holden Astra sedan collided into the rear of a white Subaru Forrester wagon while travelling northbound about 4.45pm.
It is believed the driver of the Holden Astra fled the scene without exchanging details with the driver of the Subaru Forester.
It is unknown if the driver of the Holden Astra was injured, however, the vehicle was severely damaged.
The driver of the Subaru Forester was uninjured, with the vehicle being moderately damaged.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The driver of the Holden Astra is described as being female and of average height. She was believed to be wearing a dark top and was barefoot.
