Police are calling for witnesses to an incident in the car park of Bunnings, Kings Meadows, on Thursday afternoon in which a young man was assaulted while seated in his vehicle.
The incident took place about 4.20pm in the western end of the Bunnings car park with police investigating whether the assault is linked to an earlier road rage incident on Wellington Street, involving the driver of a white Mazda 3 and the male driver of a white dual cab utility.
The driver of the Mazda has reported to police he was followed in traffic from Wellington Street to Bunnings, on Connector Park Drive, and was confronted in the car park by the other male driver. An image of the 4WD vehicle was captured on CCTV footage.
The offender is described as aged in his late 20s to early 30s, about 178cm tall (5′ 10″) with short brown/red hair and a short beard. He was wearing sunglasses and was dressed in a black t-shirt, cargo pants and a steel-capped boots.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or has dashcam footage of the incidents.
