Police seek witnesses to motorcyclist killed at Keilor East

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a collision that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Keilor East last night.

Police have been told a motorcycle was travelling in the citybound lanes of the Western Ring Road about 8pm.

It is believed a white Ford Ranger dual-cab utility was stationary in the right-hand lane when the motorcycle crashed into the rear of the vehicle.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man believed to be aged in his 30s, died at the scene.

The driver of the ute, a 24-year-old Mernda man is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage who was travelling along the Western Ring Road at the time of the collision.
