Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man who was struck and killed by a car in Wyndham Vale last night.
It is believed a silver Hyundai hatchback travelling on Armstrong Road struck the man near the intersection of Greens Road about 10.40pm.
The pedestrian, who is perceived to be African in appearance, died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver, a 36-year-old Werribee woman has been released pending further enquiries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigators are keen to speak to anyone that may have seen the man in the area around the time of the incident.
