Police update 1: Man charged over double homicide at Joyner, QLD

South Brisbane detectives will travel to New South Wales today to seek the extradition of man charged with a double homicide at Joyner.

A man and woman, both aged 59, were located deceased at their Joyner home yesterday afternoon.

A 31-year-old Joyner man was arrested by New South Wales police at Berowra around 6.30pm yesterday (May 17).

He was arrested and charged by virtue of Queensland Arrest Warrant for two count of murder (domestic violence offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Media release issued yesterday:

Police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman at Joyner, north of Brisbane this afternoon.

Shortly before 2pm, officers were called to a residence after the discovery and a crime scene declared.

An Investigation Centre has been established at Petrie Police Station.

There is no further information available at this stage.

Investigations continue.
