Police update 4: Murder charge at Millmerran

Toowoomba detectives have today charged a 25-year-old man with murder following the death of a 56-year-old man following an alleged incident at The Pines, near Millmerran, on Sunday, April 2.

It will be alleged at approximately 9.30pm, a dispute occurred at an address where the 56-year-old man sustained a significant injury to his hand caused by a long-bladed weapon.

The 56-year-old man was initially taken to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a critical condition but has since passed away from his injuries.

A 25-year-old Dubbo man who was initially charged over the incident has now had his charge upgraded to murder (domestic violence offence).

He has been remanded in custody and is due to re-appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today, April 6.

Investigations are ongoing.
