A 38-year-old Kangaroo Point man has been charged in relation to the alleged attempted murder of a police officer at Kangaroo Point yesterday (September 7).
Just after 11am police were in attendance at a River Terrace unit in relation to a search warrant.
At approximately 11.15am, it is alleged the 38-year-old man confronted police and stabbed a male Senior Constable in his 40s to the chin with a knife.
It is alleged police directed the man to drop the weapon and he did not comply, and he was shot once to the abdomen.
First aid was immediately provided by police and the 38-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The male Senior Constable was transported to Mater Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and has since been released.
The 38-year-old man was not the subject of the search warrant being conducted at the time.
He has been charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of serious assault police.
He appeared before the Brisbane Magistrates Court via bedside hearing today and has been remanded in custody with his matter next scheduled to be heard on October 10.
The Ethical Standards Command has commenced an investigation into the incident, with oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
