Police update: Police shooting at Oxley

A 42-year-old man has faced a bedside hearing on 13 charges following a series of alleged incidents in Oxley last week.

Shortly before 2pm on Thursday April 9, police responded to a series of incidents from Darra to Oxley.

A short time later, officers located an armed man in Oxley Station Road.

The man was shot by police when he ran at an officer while brandishing a knife.

He was taken to hospital and remains there in a stable condition under police guard.

The Darra man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, serious assault police, going armed to cause fear, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, attempted robbery, stealing and wilful damage.

He has been remanded to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 13.

The matter is subject to investigations by Ethical Standards Command with oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
