Police update: Serious assault at Labrador, QLD

Detectives have charged a 50-year-old man in relation to an alleged serious assault at Labrador on October 6.

At approximately 6pm, it will be alleged an altercation occurred between two men on Marine Parade.

A 75-year-old man was allegedly struck causing him to fall and hit his head.

He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

It will be alleged the other man involved left the scene on an electric scooter.

Following investigations, a 50-year-old local man was taken into custody at Labrador.

He has been charged with serious assault person over 60 and is expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on October 23.

It will be alleged the men were not known to each other.
