Power$mart Homes program open

Peter Gutwein,Minister for Environment, Parks and Heritage

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government is committed to reducing the cost of living pressure for Tasmanians.

We are getting on with the job, with the Power$mart Homes program designed to help eligible low income households save money on their power bills, stay warm in winter and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Power$mart Homes is a free program that will supply and install a range of high-quality energy efficiency upgrades and provide energy saving advice for more than 1,000 eligible low income households.

The free high-quality upgrades may include LED light bulbs, a water and power saving shower head, a plug-in heater thermostat control, an EcoSwitch power controller, hot water cylinder pipe insulation and draught sealing on doors and windows.

Being delivered through local firm COVA, applications for Power$mart Homes are now open for eligible participating households, with the program to be rolled out in 2020.
