Pride flag hangs proudly outside Council House

Following approval of the LGBTQIA+ Plan at the October Council Meeting, the Pride flag will now hang permanently outside of Council House in place of one of the two City of Perth flags (action 29.2).

The Pride flag is a symbol of pride for the LGBTQIA+ community and has been around in various forms since 1978.

The City’s Flag Protocol (PR0659) is being updated through its annual review, to include updated protocols related to this new addition.

This historic moment is paramount for increasing the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community in Perth and will be a visible reminder to the City as we embark on implementing the other actions within the three-year LGBTQIA+ Plan.
