Privately employed medic charged over sexual touching of two women in Redfern

A privately employed medic has been charged over the alleged sexual touching of two women in Sydney’s south last month.

Last month, investigators from South Sydney Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports two women had been sexually abused by a man while receiving first aid at Redfern Railway Station.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives executed a search warrant at a home at Jannali about 8am today (Wednesday 7 August 2019).

During the search, officers seized a mobile phone, electronic equipment and clothing.

A 38-year-old man, who is a privately employed medic, was arrested at the home and taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with two counts of aggravated sexually touch another person.

Police will allege in court that the man used his position to provide first aid services at the railway station, and inappropriately touched two women – aged 21 and 25 – during separate examinations on Friday 26 July 2019.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Wednesday 7 August 2019).

The man was stood down from his role as a medic during the course of the investigation.
