Promisedland and Pine Creek part of Gregory River fire bushfire

Bushfire warning level: ADVICE

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire in Promisedland and Pine Creek.

You need to keep up to date and decide what actions you will take if the situation changes.

Currently as at 6.20pm Wednesday 18 December, a slow-moving fire continues to burn in the vicinity of Phillips Road and Erskine Road.

Crews are conducting backburning operations in the area this evening to strengthen containment lines. Heavy machinery and a large number of crews are expected to be working in the area this evening.

People who previously self-evacuated are allowed to return to their property but should keep up-to-date with warnings because the situation could change.

Residents of Steemsons Road, Svensons Road, Pine Creek Road, Voss Road, Webbers Road and Crosswells Road should also stay up-to-date with warnings.

Childers Road is currently open in both directions.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.

Properties are not under direct threat at this time. Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.
