Property Council WA gives Treasurer Ben Wyatt credit

Property Council WA Executive Director Sandra Brewer said Treasurer Ben Wyatt’s decision to step down at the next election surprised the property industry.

“Mr Wyatt’s decision to leave politics will be a loss to Western Australia,” Ms Brewer said.

“The Treasurer has shown a great capacity not just to manage the finances, but to listen to the concerns of those advocating for better fiscal policy, stimulus to create jobs and planning for a well-designed, well-resourced future Perth.

“Property Council WA looks forward to continuing to work with the Treasurer on fine-tuning policies that deliver fairer taxes, create jobs and support a thriving and vibrant property industry to continue building Perth into a great city.

“The upcoming Budget will be an opportune time to work on good policy designed to create the right conditions to deliver well-designed affordable housing and great spaces in Perth and generate jobs.

“There will be time for a more considered tribute to the Treasurer in coming months but we wish Mr Wyatt well in his life beyond politics.”
