Protest arrest, Port of Brisbane 22 June

Two men and one woman are in custody following reports of a protest at the Port of Brisbane yesterday afternoon.

Police will allege at approximately 3.30 two vehicles were used to block a roadway causing major traffic delays before the obstruction could be cleared shortly after 5.15pm.

A 49-year-old Lismore woman was charged with one count each of endangering the safe use of vehicles and transport infrastructure, unlawful assembly, use dangerous attachment device to interfere with transport infrastructure, pedestrians caused an obstruction, commit public nuisance and contravene a direction.

A 28-year-old South Brisbane man was charged with endangering the safe use of vehicles and transport infrastructure, unlawful assembly, use dangerous attachment device to interfere with transport infrastructure, pedestrians caused an obstruction, commit public nuisance and obstruct police.

A 34-year-old Marrickville man was charged with endangering the safe use of vehicles and transport infrastructure, unlawful assembly, use dangerous attachment device to interfere with transport infrastructure, pedestrians caused an obstruction and commit public nuisance.

They are all due to appear at Wynnum Magistrates Court today.
