Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing operation at Birkdale.
The PSPA was declared at 2:40am, with the exclusion zone including Mary Pleasant Drive, Commodore Drive and Mainsail Street.
Officers were called to a location within the exclusion zone around 2:00am before a threat to public safety was identified, resulting in the declaration.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain secure indoors until further notice.
