Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an unfolding incident at Kirwan near Townsville.
The declaration was made at approximately 9pm with boundaries encompassing Dalrymple Road, Kern Brothers Drive, Sandstone Drive, and Golf Links Drive.
Police are currently responding to reports of shots fired in this area.
Residents within the exclusion zone are urged to stay inside their properties and lock the doors.
Police are currently conducting emergency operations in the area and requesting members of the public and aircraft to not attend the declared location.
