Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a police incident in West End (Townsville) this morning.
An emergency situation was declared at approximately 10am, with boundaries encompassing Francis Street, Montgomery Street, Gordon Street, Douglas Street and Chandler Street.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
Traffic diversions are in place.
